Dining in a restaurant may have been a no-go for the past few months in Singapore, but that has not stopped a new restaurant from opening. Singapore-based restauranteur Gibran Baydoun has partnered with chef Mark Iacono of Brooklyn’s famed Lucali to open Lucali BYGB. The original restaurant in Brooklyn, which is known for its hybrid Neapolitan and New York-style pizzas, draws long queues outside what used to be a candy store.
Lucali BYGB is located in a building along the Kallang River tucked away from the island’s usual food strips. Baydoun didn’t just bring over chef Iacono’s cult recipe — he had the same hand-built pizza oven assembled here. While the current delivery menu doesn’t offer its pizza pies and calzones yet, you can still expect favourites like Norma’s — a deliciously comforting eggplant rigatoni — and quintessential American meatloaf, as well as fresh and perfectly-balanced salads.
Expect an unpretentious take on Italian and American fare in a laidback, communal setting. The chef at Lucali BYGB is Ariana Flores, formerly the executive pastry chef at Osteria Mozza, and the restaurant — with pizza pies on the menu — will open this month. — Renée Batchelor
Lucali BYGB is now available for delivery only.

The minimalist colour schemes in Frédéric Malle candle jars makes them beautiful decorative objects as well.
Exactly 20 years ago, French perfumer Frédéric Malle founded Editions de Parfums to inject his perspective on perfumery, influenced by his life growing up in Paris. His grandfather Serge Hefler-Louiche was the founder of Parfums Christian Dior, while his mother preceded as the artistic director of the house for part of her career. Born into a family of artists and perfumers, Malle ceaselessly sought after stimulated senses, which translated into his life’s work dissecting the construction of perfumes, its formulations and exploring the richness of raw materials.
In that respect, Malle has crafted his line of candles alongside his brand’s perfumes. For each candle scent, he formulates the wax specifically to match its fragrance oil, which is then hand-poured over the modulated wick for a clean flame. Designed in chic, matte porcelain, the jars are white on the outside and red on the inside. When lit, these candles transform any space into a warm, glowing haven, with delicate and refined scents that lightly infuse the air. — Lynette Kee

Heimat Atlantica’s Lararium collection features handcrafted porcelain jewellery and homeware.
Heimat Atlantica’s Lararium collection of Roman-inspired talismans is now available at multi-label boutique On Pedder. The label, founded by Montserrat Alvarez, celebrates the traditional craftsmanship of Portugal and Northern Spain. For Lararium, the brand worked with a traditional goldsmith atelier, Angel Porto, in Santiago de Comostela, Spain, while the porcelain deity faces that adorn the jewellery and vases are handcrafted by ceramist Mario Feijoo. Using traditional jewellery-making techniques, Feijoo produces a marble-like, unique finish on each piece, which comes in a soft palette of muted pastels. Besides the delicate yet eye-catching jewellery, the collection also includes porcelain vases for the home that are also humorously adorned with the same enigmatic faces. — Renée Batchelor
