When the late Diana, Princess of Wales, first stepped onto the red carpet of a Royal Gala performance wearing her low-heeled, slingback Jimmy Choo pumps in 1997, she catapulted the luxury shoe brand into global prominence, placing it on the luxury fashion map. Built on the appeal of its glamorous stage presence, Jimmy Choo shoes have certainly become an icon over the years, attracting an orbit of celebrities and fashion figures. In its latest collaboration with Korean celebrity stylist YK Jeong, Sandra Choi, creative director of the brand, looks at the maison’s signature glam aesthetics through a decidedly contemporary lens. The capsule collection — ‘The Highlighted’ — reimagines Jimmy Choo’s existing silhouettes in a world of fun. Like the name suggests, the white patent pump sits on a heel, tipped at the end, with fluorescent neon colours, reminiscent of highlighter pens. The result: A modern form of decoration fit for the sophisticated woman.
